My first sketch. I was just doodling a bit and ended up with an alien head, which I then added a halo to. I wanted to keep the odd human elements such as the hand wings and the teeth gown.

The halo was made seperately in Illustrator, then the slight gradient was added in Photoshop.
The hand outlines and shading. I used the same golden shades as the halo and changed the layer style to make it more transparent and react with the space background.
The layer styles created a beautiful, golden glow.
